Description

Small hand-sampled piece of basaltic rock. This rock forms in dikes throughout the White Mountains. This sample of basaltic rock is at least 130 milion years old. Collected by two well-trained geology students for the 2014 "Beyond Granite" exhibition at MWM. Part of a complete (or at least comprehensive) hand-sample collection of all the rocks of the White Mountains.
