Description

Small hand-sampled piece of Bethlehem Granodiorite. This sample contains shiny silver and black minerals called micas in addition to large white grains of plagioclase. This Bethlehem Granodiorite is about 410 million years old. Collected by two well-trained geology students for the 2014 "Beyond Granite" exhibition at MWM. Part of a complete (or at least comprehensive) hand-sample collection of all the rocks of the White Mountains.
