Statement from the artist: The role of libraries in New Hampshire towns is a long-standing municipal feature. The library is open to all and acts much like a civic center. It is the strongest building in town. It is constructed of granite, bricks and oak. In a significant way, it displays though its architecture, the appreciation of knowledge shared by the community.
