Description

Statement from the artist: Keeping warm is a year-round occupation in the mountains where Rumney is located. Logging trees, trucking, cutting logs, splitting the drums, trucking again, stacking in a specific manner, toting into the house, kindling, starting a fire in the wood stove, overnight wood loads, maintaining the stove, stove pipes and chimney is a perpetual series of tasks. The warmth of the fire when it is cold and raw is worth it. This image is a two-plate design to correspond to the proportion of the location.
