Glass plate positive, in which the emulsion sits between two glass plates. Most lantern slides are sealed on all four slides, but this one is not. The ability for air to get in between the two pieces of glass most likely caused the cracking and loss of emulsion. Attributed to T.E.M. White, as found with his collection of glass plate negatives. Image shows a man pushing a four-wheeled cart full of sacks, coming from the left side of the frame toward the right. A woman near the center of the frame is almost facing the photographer and is carrying a pail and a basket, both full. A woman facing toward the right, and in the right-hand side of the image, is carrying a laden basket. The ground seems to be bare dirt, and trees form the background.Collection

Notes
Image can be made out, but the loss of emulsion has obscured some of the image, particularly around all four sides and somewhat into the center of the image. Definitely on the line of poor condition. Not wrapped on all four sides, as a lantern slide should be to keep out the air and slow breakdown of emulsion. Glass is in good condition.General Notes
