Description

Woman with two long braids and bangs sits in an armchair with a card table in front of her, holding a playing card with others before her. To the woman's right is a table laden with a lamp, books, scissors, and other items. The room includes two rocking chairs, a stove (for heat?) and various wall hangings. An open doorway to the left of the woman shows a dining-room or kitchen beyond, with a tartan or flannel hanging from the door frame. On the wall perpendicular is a closed door, which also has a fireplace built into it, and pictures on the mantelpiece. Various rugs cover the floor.
