Description

Woman with dark hair seated in a chair by a hearth, wearing a dress with a checked design and with book in her lap. There is a table to her left on which sits a candlestick and another item. The remainder of the room directly resembles that in Object ID MWM2010.0001.2887, with a gun over the mantelpiece and corn and sausages hung from the ceiling. Many housewares decorate the mantel and the hearth. The room also resembles that in Object ID MWM2010.0001.2892; a spinning wheel may almost be made out behind the seated woman, but the peeling emulsion makes it difficult to discern.

Emulsion is cracked and peeling from the right side of the image, emerging somewhat into the center. This obscures some of the image. A piece of glass has broken off from the lower right-hand corner (found this way in the crate).
