Description

In the foreground are a number of large rocks and what may be grass but is difficult to discern because of the damage to the plate. Beyond a wooden fence bisects the image. Two buildings can be seen, both only partially. They are obscured by trees which continue into the middle ground, where there are also fields in a valley before the land rises into hills and mountains. In the middle ground of the right-hand side of the image it is uncertain whether there is water with small wooded islands or if it is only grassy fields with some trees.

Plate has broken into ten pieces. Plate is not entirely complete, but was pieced together from the bottom of the wooden crate in which the glass plates were stored, and is only missing a few small pieces. There has been some flaking and loss of emulsion along the bottom of the plate and abraison from dirt and other particles along the top and right hand side. In the lower right corner is written 550. The image is partially obscured from the plate being broken and from the emulsion being damaged.
