Description

Image of a great number of people, approximately 100, seated and standing in a tent. There are three multi-colored poles holding up the tent. Numerous tables holding food and drink are at a slight diagonal to the viewer. Many of the men are seated at these tables, though many are standing, and all but one of the few women are standing in the back near to the tent walls. The men appear in a sort of military uniform, some with different buttons and embroidery on the backs and shoulders of their jackets. Some men wear military-style hats, others are bare-headed. Some men wear suits and some of these have bowler hats. There is at least one very young-looking young man in the crowd. There are flags toward the back left of the tent and a man standing on something that raises him above the crowd; he is holding his hat with his hand. Not far from him is a portrait of a man, decorated and draped with either a flag or some sort of linen. On that side of the tent there is also a flower arrangement, and chairs and a bench stacked aside. A number of the people photographed are looking at the photographer, though some of them have moved during the taking of the image creating a double or "ghost" image.
