Description

A dog lays in the grass of a lawn or garden. Its head it up and is looking to the left. A collar is just discernable under its light-colored, medium-length fur. To its right and disappearing into the background is a small fence or short stakes roping off what may be a garden; there is certainly some vegetation growing. This image may have been taken in North Conway, where White had his studio.

The emulsion has worn away far into the image on the top, bottom, and right sides of the plate. This has obscured the image, though it is a simple, up-close image so it is likely that not much has been lost. There has also been abrasion to the plate through its storage conditions.
