Description

Image of a group of houses done in the carpenter gothic or rural gothic style. In the bottom left hand corner there are four individuals: one adult, two children walking along side, and one child presumably in the baby carriage. The neighborhood has been identified as Nonquitt, a summer community in Dartmouth, MA. The image is featured in the book "Nonquitt: a summer album 1872-1985" (1987) and is labeled "ca. 1880. Hotel enlarged in 1874. Lower right: Gifford Family."

There is some damage to the image. The ambrosia damage created a crack on the left hand side of the image. As well as smaller ambrosia spidering lines across the image. The glass plate is stable.
