This book examines the history and legacy of the Crawford House, The Twin Mountain House, the Mount Pleasant House, the Fabyan House, the Summit House and the Mount Washington Hotel. These hotels and resorts were operated by the Barron family. The book chronicles the surge of the hotel and tourist industry and then the decline in the economcy and subsequent closing of nearly all the hotels and resorts with the exception of the Mount Washington Hotel. Physical Description: Hardcover, title, added title entry and author's name on front cover. A book jacket encases the book, the actual hardcover is a royal blue color with a gold colored crest and words in latin reading "Fortuna Juvat Audaces", the author's name and title on the spine of the book. The book jacket includes a picture of the Mount Washington Hotel and it's sign with the mountain range in the background. The back side of the book jacket includes a description of the book, a photograph of the Crawford House, and a coach from the Crawford House.
