Scope and Content

Item is a souvenir or advertisement two month calendar card produced for the First National Bank of Boston's 170th anniversary. The card features calendars for September and October 1954. The card features a colored illustration of four hikers by the Appalachian Mountain Club's Madison Spring Hut as well as a paragraph of information on the AMC: 'The first club in the United States for the exploration of mountains was the Appalachian Mountain Club. Formed in Boston in 1876, its purposes have been scientific research and outdoor recreation. The first of its huts was built on Mt. Madison in 1888. The present membership is about 5800.'
