Scope and Content

Black with red binding and red corners. 8" x 10 1/2" and 1" thick, handwritten. On the binding is printed RECORD, 400.R.033. Inside the front cover is found the stationer's stamp, no, 4819-4. The stationer is F.W. Barry Beale & Co. of Boston. The travel journal documenting the trips taken by Ida Rachel James and Walter H. James. Most are through the White Mountains taken by themseleves or with friends. Also detailed is a trip to Plum Island in June 1910. Photographs are attached to most of the pages of the places they journeyed to. Drawings and maps are also included on some of the pages. Journal includes a short booklet found between pages 286 and 287 about The Pines in Tamworth. It details the hotel and includes drawings of the surrounding area.
