"Mt. Washington." Etching by Lerory R. Woodard, one of his first copies, probably done on copperplate in 1930 or so. Featuring the summit of Mt. Washington. "Proof" is written on the lower right hand corner in pencil.
The artist, Leroy R. Woodard was born in 1903 in Brockton, MA. Active in the Randolph Mountain Club, he established an art studio in the Old Town Hall attic in Randolph, NH. In addition to his art, he also designed the travel brochure for the town and the original Randolph highway sign, as well as signs for Crag Camp and the Perch. Woodard also painted a round watercolor of Madison and Adams, which is still used today as the logo for the Randolph Mountain Club.Collection
