Gifford was born near New Bedford, MA, and spent his life living and working in New York and Nonquitt, traveling abroad in Euorpe, North Africa, and to Alaska to sketch. Catalog provided for the unrestricted public aution of these works at The American Art Galleries, Madison Square South, on February 2, 1906, by the execurtix of the estate.Collection
