Scope and Content

A colorized postcard depicting a view of Crawford Notch from Elephants Head. Railroad tracks can be seen in the foreground. Published by James F. Snow, Brunswick, Me. "CRAWFORD NOTCH, FROM ELEPHANT'S HEAD. Although not as grand a view is to be obtained as from Mt. Willard, one is well repaid for the trouble in ascending this bare, rocky cliff, by means of a well trodden path in its rear. Below you wind into the distance the carriage and rail routes, through the notch and far above tower the gigantic cliffs of Mts. Willey and Webster".
