Scope and Content

A color image shows the edge of Profile lake with the Profile House sitting just beyond in the Franconia Notch. Trees surround the property and extend up onto the mountain side in the background. A mountain peak and valley are visible. The Profile House is a large estate made up of a large white hotel and smaller buildings behing it. The Profile house was built in 1852 and burned down in 1923. In 1928, the land was dedicated as the Franconia Notch State Park. Back Description: On the back is a letter written in pencil and a Benjamin Franklin stamp. Transcription: Mrs. C. M.
