Scope and Content

The Mount Pleasant House is pictured with trees in the background. In front of the grand hotel that was built in 1875, is a lawn with a small bridge built over a small river. A long staircase reaches from the hotel down to the bottom of the hill in which the hotel sits on. The hotel sports several towers with flags, a cupola like structure and dormers as well as a deck on the second floor and a porch on the first. Back Description: There is an address and letter written on the back as well as a George Washington stamp in the upper right corner. Transcription: Louise and Harty Nichols To Mrs. W. H. Hastings Bellefonte, Pa [indistinguishable] Dear Andrew (?) We are staying here to-night. I wish you were with us. Best love From Mother and Dad
