Blue and white all-cotton doubleweave coverlet with borders on two sides with stylized trees. A few small brownish spots; 86 x 102”.
The coverlet is a modern reproduction. It was believed to have belonged to Elizabeth Barkley (1802-1880), daughter of Rosina Gohn and Jacob Barkley of Chanceford Township, York County and later Somerset Township, Somerset County and passed down through the family to Louise Irwin around 1981. Around 1823, Elizabeth Barkley married John Adam Flick (1796-1874), a farmer of Somerset Township (later Jefferson Township when it was established in 1847), Somerset County.Collection
