Blue and natural figured double weave coverlet; two panels joined by a center seam; no fringe; tree and fence border on three sides; star and floral centerfield pattern with eagle corner block.
The majority of Harry Tyler’s coverlets are inscribed with the location Jefferson County, New York, but other New York counties and locations in Vermont and Canada are also named in his corner block inscriptions. Around 1845, he seems to have begun naming the location of his client in the corner block rather than his own location. Only two known Tyler coverlets name Orleans County in the inscription.Collection
