John Bottenfield (born c. 1823) is listed in the 1850 Census as a 27-year-old farmer in Hopewell Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Only one other Bottenfield coverlet survives, woven in 1845 using the same pattern. An identical 1847 coverlet, also woven in Woodberry, is signed by Ignatz Brand.Collection
