Description

Red, navy, green figured tied Beiderwand coverlet; two panels joined by a center seam; self-fringe and floral border on three sides; roses and buds centerfield pattern. John Wirick (born c. 1808) wove coverlets from 1848 to 1868 first in Midway, Clark County, Ohio and later in St. Paris, Champaign County. Nearly identical coverlets were also produced by William H. Van Gordon in neighboring Miami County, Ohio.
