Red, navy, green figured tied Beiderwand coverlet; two panels joined by a center seam; architectural border on sides, floral border on bottom, foliate medallion centerfield pattern; self-fringe on three sides.
Jacob Saylor (born c. 1803) wove coverlets in Ohio from 1844 to 1859, first in Stark, then in Knox, then in Pickaway County. Several of his coverlets dated 1851 to 1852, including this one, read “J/” in the bottom left corner. The meaning of this inscription is unclear.Collection
