Figured coverlet; undyed and dark blue cotton and blue, red, and green wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Hemmed at top, fringe attached to tree sides. Central motif consists of a stylized sun medallion with a quatrefoil at its center. Tasseled swags surround the medallion, as do stylized flowers. In the corners of the center field there are large leaves with a heart shaped flower. Border consists of leaves framed in a rectangular shape, separated in the center by structure pillared arbor. Under the arbor, there is an urn. Framing the border on top is a zigzag line; on the bottom are diamonds connected by a line. Corner blocks contain a tulip medallion.Collection
