Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue and red wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Selvedges on both sides; fringed top and bottom. Central motif contains medallions of red petaled flowers alternating with blue leaf medallions framed in a butterfly-like shape. Overall ground consists of a diamond pattern. Color scheme gives a plaid effect. Border on all sides is a wavy chain of flowers.
