Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue and blue wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Selvedges on sides; top and bottom hemmed by turning cloth towards one another and sewing closed. Central motif contain several different medallions. One has a rosette at its center and floral vines radiating from it forming a square; another is an eight-pointed star within a rounded petal shape, this is then surrounded by dots. The medallions alternate with an eight-pointed star. Borders on side and bottom are of trees flanked by an arched picket fence. The corner blocks in the bottom contain Harry Tyler's trademark lion and the woven text.
