Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Coverlet has two panels joined by a center seam. (The color of the blue wool on the right panel and in a 2.5 inch strip at the top of the left panel is lighter than the blue of the remaining left panel.) Selvedges on sides; top and bottom are hemmed. Central motif is a pattern made up of large floral medallions separated by smaller floral medallions framed within a curved eight-sided shape. Border contains peacocks and oval vases filled with flowers. Corner blocks contain an urn encircled by leaves and the woven text.Collection
