Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Center seam joins two panels. Hem on top, fringe on sides and bottom. Central motif consists of squares made up of four stylized roses and tulips. These squares are separated by snowflake-like shapes. Border on bottom includes a pair of birds flanking a floral tree. The border on sides contains a swag of vines accented by an eagle motif. The eagle has a shield and carries arrows. An eagle is also in the corner blocks along with the woven text.Collection
