Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, double cloth. Center seam joings two panels. Selvedges on both sides; hemmed top, fringed bottom. Central motif cannot be considered a true medallion style as ogee curves tie the design together causing it to flow vertically. Large leafy shapes are central to the design. Some have an almost cross-like shape; while others are more oval in shape. At the center of the cross-like shapes is a design similar to a fleur de lis. The oval shape has a fleurette at its center. Border differs for top/bottom and sides. Top and bottom borders contain a repeated floral motif. Sides are also floral, but continue the flowing curves of the center field.Collection
