Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue, red, and gold wool, double cloth. Top and bottom are hemmed; the sides have a side fringe and the bottom has a fringe added onto the hem. The central motif consists of a central medallion, at its center is a rosette in a sixteen-pointed star, surrounded by a wreath of stylized flowers, which is encircled by another wreath of leaves. The field within the medallion has a diamond pattern; the field outside of the medallioni has a colored triangles. Bands of red, blue, and gold alternate throughout the pattern. The border is a chain of stylized flowers and leaves that begin to encroach on the center of each of the corners. Outer edge has a secondary border of lattice.
