Description

Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and red, blue, and beige wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Center seam joins two panels. Hemmed top and bottom, with bottom hem having applied fringe. Sides are self-fringed. Central motif of four red rose blooms making a block surrounded by blue rose buds. Borders on the sides are of peacocks on a branch with a stylized tree separating the pairs of birds. The bottom border is half a star burst of red and blue.
