Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and rust red and blue wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Hemmed top, fringed sides and bottom. Central motif consists of diamond shaped medallions. Some diamonds have a single flower at the center framed by two layers of angled lines. Other diamonds contain four small flowers. Borders on all sides contain a floral motif; however, the side borders have a Greek key pattern trimming the outer edge. Secondary borders on top and bottom have a lattice pattern, with the side borders having a more tightly interlocking diamond pattern.
