Belonged to Catherine Ann McLanahan Flory (1812-1867), daughter of Anna Funk Hammett and Thomas McLanahan of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, who married in 1830 Daniel Flory (1808-1876) of Smithsburg, Maryland. The couple settled in Clear Spring, Maryland, and the coverlet was passed down through the family.
