Spinning wheel; vertical, two bobbin/flyer units above wheel, treadle. A rectangular table, with curves on short sides, rests on three splayed legs. Two sections of the treadle are attached to the fixed front bar by leather hinges. The footman connects the treadle to the drive wheel axle. Two wheel posts are set into table. The drive wheel axle rests in notches on wheel posts, and is secured on rear post by a pin. The drive wheel has eight spokes; the rim, with two grooves, is constructed in four sections. Two parallel uprights are set into rear of table and are joined by horizontal rod. Each of the two mothers-of-all fits into a slot in the upper section of each upright and is secured by a wooden nut. The left mother-of-all is set higher than the right one. There are bone or horn collars at top of each upright. Tensioning screws pass through the top of each upright. The maidens are vertical. Threaded section at end of mother-of-all has wooden nut for adjusting the postition of the maidens. The bobbins/flyers are complete and are designed for separate doubled drive-bands.
