Description

Figured coverlet, undyed cotton and blue, green, and red wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Hemmed at top and bottom; fringed attached to sides and bottom. Central motif is of four roses set on point accentuated by small floral medallions and stars. Pattern has horizontal bands of color running throughout coverlet. Border consists of repeated tulip motifs edged by diagonal stripes.
