Description

Figured coverlet; undyed and dark blue cotton and blue, olive, and red wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Hemmed at top, fringed on three sides, with side fringe being uncut loops and bottom fringe attached. Central motif is a center medallion of a stylized floral design, surrounded by a chain of scrolling leaves and flowers. Borders consists of a stylized grapevine motif. Side borders are framed on the outer edge by an interlocking chain.
