Description

Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and blue, red, and green worsted, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Center seam joins two panels. Selvedge with fringe on both sides. Hemmed top and bottom, with bottom having fringe attached. Central motif includes groupings of four roses alternating with starbursts. Bands of varying widths, in the colors red, green, and blue, run horizontally through the coverlet. Border consists of an alternating tree and eagle motif. Secondary border is a double row of eight-pointed stars.
