Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and red wool, double cloth. Selvedges on both sides of coverlet. Top and bottom edges are bound with seam binding. Central motif is a center medallion of a floral nature flanked top and bottom by two American flags and on each side by a woman's head encircled by the word "LIBERTY". Entwined around the center medallion are vines. An eagle carrying a shield, arrows, and branch with thirteen stars over its head is at each corner. At the center of the top and bottom edge, there is a flower filled urn. At the center of the sides, there is a cornucopia. Both of these motifs are separating by scrolls and flowers. The border consists of an interlocking chain with flowers.Collection
