Description

Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and blue wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Center seam joins two panels. Hem at top, fringed on sides and bottom. Central motif contains small floral medallions that connect by means of floral vines. Within the squares that these connecting medallions form are twelve-pointed star-flowers surrounded by six-pointed stars. Border contains pairs of birds flanking a tree. Secondary border of six-pointed stars separated by two dots is along outer edge.
