Figured coverlet; blue cotton and blue, red, and green wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Center seam joins two panels. Hemmed top, fringed sides and bottom. Central motif consists of alternating rectangular and scalloped medallions filled with stylized floral designs. The coverlet is woven in alternating bands of green and blue with each band being bordered by a narrow band of red. Side borders contain a rose and leaf motif, while the bottom border shows facing birds with a stylized tree in between. A narrow secondary border of eight-pointed stars is on each side.Collection
