Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and rose, blue, and olive wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Top edge is hemmed, sides and bottom are fringed. Central motif consists of medallions in an elliptical starburst design. At the center of each starburst is a tulip motif with rose/tulip design framing the starbursts. Separating the rows of starbursts are diamond shaped medallions of four roses with a spade shaped leaf pointing in all four directions. Each side has a border containing three sunflower-like flowers in a pot with leaves and stylized flowers branching to either side of the pot. In each corner block there is a domed building and woven text.Collection
