Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Selvedges on either side; hemmed top and bottom. Central motif consists of a field of medallions. Large and small floral medallions are surrounded by undulating vines with foliage and berries. The vines have birds sitting in the branches. The borders continue the floral and leaf motif and at each corner there is an open petaled flower.Collection
