Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Selvedges on either side. Hemmed top, fringed bottom. Central motif consists of large petaled medallions in square blocks. Surrounding the petal motif are wide frames which have "X" shaped designs at each intersection. These "X's" cut into the squares at the corners of the petal motif and have a floral design. The remaining portions of the frames consist of stripes of vines and other floral/leaf designs. The side borders are edged in a checkered sawtooth pattern and contain a chain of flowers. The bottom border has a similar floral design but adds a stylized lily on either side of the smaller flowers.Collection
