Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and red, blue, and olive wool, double cloth. Top hemmed, sides and bttom fringed. Central motif is a center medallion consisting of a center star burst design surrounded by stylized floral design. The four corners show a portrait of George Washington with a horse on either side of his head and a spread eagle beneath him. In between the portraits in the center of each side is a capitol building with a flag flying on either side of the dome. A floral/foliage design with a bird is on either side of the capitol building. Chain-like border runs along all sides; however, weavers name is at top and bottom edge.Collection
