Figured coverlet; unyed and blue cotton and red, blue, and green wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Hemmed top, fringed sides and bottom. The central motif shows exotic birds feeding four chicks in a nest alternating with an urn containing a pineapple, grapes, and stylized flowers. Large leaves enclose the urns and peacocks holding a floral spray complete the design. Borders have an array of different style buildings, including a Georgian house, a tall building with a pagoda roof, and a New England church. The secondary border on the outer edge contains outlines of small rectangular blocks. The corner blocks contain a building with a bell tower.Collection
