Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, double cloth. Center seam joins two panels. Hemmed top; fringed sides and bottom. Central motif consists of images of two birds feeding their young in an elaborate nest surrounded by stylized foliage. This design alternates with an urn of fruit and flowers. Dividing the rows of the above designs are two birds facing each other standing on branches. The border on the lower edge shows two rows of a grapevine design growing from one of the pots in the corner block. The side borders have a stylized floral and foliage design enclosed within three stripes.
