Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and red and olive wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Hemmed top, sides and bottom fringed. Central motif consists of various shaped blocks on a ground that has alternating bands of red and green. The red band contains four lilies forming a circular pattern alternating with a wheel that is accented with stars and has a single flower at its center. The green band contains a sunburst within a rectangle and a scalloped octagon that is filled with a stylized floral pattern. Border, on three sides, consists of a chain of grapevines. Secondary border along outer edge is a row of small eight-pointed stars.Collection
