Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and dark blue wool, double cloth. The bottom of the coverlet is fringed and the other three sides have been cut. The coverlet has a central motif that consists of a single circular floral and scroll medallion with an eight-pointed star at its center. The medallion is surrounded by a wreath of scrolling vines. On each side of this central motif are a pair of eagles carrying a scroll, a pair of deer, a pair of birds on a branch, and a building. On the outer edge of the field, a chain of scrolling vines links the buildings. A narrow floral border is on three sides with a single floral motif in the bottom corners. Only the bottom border is complete.Collection
