Figured coverlet undyed and blue cotton and blue, red, and aqua wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Coverlet has two panels joined by a center seam. Hemmed at top, fringed on other three sides. Central motif is an all over pattern of small floral medallions, consisting of a wreath of four lilies surrounding an eight petaled flower within a sixteen-pointed star, alternating with small starburst medallions. Border of alternating birds, rose bushes, and trees runs along sides and bottom of coverlet.Collection
